AUDITION INFO

Cartage Theatre is casting a non-Equity actor for the role of Mephistopheles in their upcoming production of An Apology For the Course and Outcome of Certain Events Delivered by Doctor John Faustus on This His Final Evening, written by Mickle Maher and to be directed by Robin Witt (Steppenwolf Theatre-Chicago, Steep Theatre, Chicago, UNC Charlotte).

Looking for people of all genders, age 21 and older.

The character of Mephistopheles spends much of the play seated, listening. Mephistopheles has no lines. This is a two-character play. Dr. Faustus speaks, and Mephistopheles listens-mostly.  Please read the play before you audition. We will email you a copy.

The audition will be in two parts.

1. Be prepared to tell part of a ghost story—no longer than 2 minutes. Any story you like. Tell it to adults (not children). We will stop you at 2 minutes. Please do not be seated.

2. Be prepared to listen to Faustus deliver a monologue. The specific text will be provided when audition is confirmed.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, Sept 22, between 11-4.

Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, November 1st, and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm, and Saturday at 11am. Rehearsal schedule is subject to change.

An Apology… will open at the Warehouse PAC in Cornelius on November 1st.

There is pay.

Please contact cartagetheatre@gmail.com to audition or for any further information. There are limited slots available, so it will be first come first served.
